The Kremlin claimed on Monday that there is no reason to blame Russia for the drones observed in Europe and rejected the statements of German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, who assumed that Russia is behind drone flights, Reuters reports.

“There are many politicians in Europe who are now inclined to blame Russia for anything. They do it unjustifiably, without discernment,” Kremlin spokesman, Dmitri Peskov, told the press.

“The whole story with these drones is, say, enough, not to say more,” Peskov said.

“There is no reason to accuse Russia for this,” he insisted.

Also on Monday, former Russian president Dmitri Medvedev said on Monday that Russia does not know who is behind the wave of disturbances caused by drones in airports in a number of European countries, comment on an enigmatic message in which he talked about “agents and rushes” in Europe

The reaction comes after German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said he suspects that Russia is behind many of the drones observed in Germany this weekend, including those who have disturbed dozens of flights at Munich airport.

“Our assumption is that Russia is behind the majority of these flights by drones,” he said.

In recent weeks, airports in several airports in Europe have reported the presence of drones and have registered flights or even cancels because of this. The Danish and Polish authorities rapidly pointed to Russia for these incidents, but Moscow denied the accusations.
