Ukraine investigates as possible executions the death of 263 Ukrainian soldiers who were killed after surrendering or taken prisoners by Russian troops, according to a statement issued by the General Prosecutor's Office, informs EFE, taken by Agerpres.
The Prosecutor's Office also investigates as possible death in July 2022 in a prison in Olenivka, in the area occupied by Russia in the Ukrainian region (East), 59 Ukrainian war prisoners following an explosion produced in their cabin, which Kiev believes has been caused from within and attribute it to the Russians.
According to the statement, the Office of the Attorney General has already opened 80 files for these alleged executions, and nine Russian soldiers were officially accused of being responsible for crimes. Ukraine usually performs such procedures in the absence of the incriminated.
