If a whole cloud of small midges is circulating over bananas, apples or a garbage bucket, do not rush to spray with chemistry. There is a simple and safe way to catch them all. At the same time, do not poison air, children or pets. All that is needed is already in your kitchen.
What will be needed:
Ripe banana or apple – a small piece
Apple vinegar or wine – 2 tablespoons
Small jar or glass
Food film or paper bag
How to act:
- Put a piece of fruit in a jar, add vinegar or some wine.
- Cover on top with cling film and pierce 5-6 small holes in it with a needle.
- Put a trap where midges appear most often.
After a few hours, insects will fly to the smell of fermentation, fly inside through the holes and will not be able to get out. In the morning, just pour the contents and put a new portion.
This method does not smell of chlorine, leaves no traces and does not harm home. And it works better than sticky tapes and aerosols, because it attracts midges, and not just scares.
Question-answer:
Is it possible to use only vinegar without fruit?
Yes, but with fruits the trap works better. The midges react to the smell of fermentation.
How much to keep a trap?
Usually enough 12-24 hours. If there are a lot of midges, change every day.
