Newspapers and cardboard work like steep mulch: they hold moisture, do not allow weeds to grow and fertilize the soil over time. Spread 3 – 4 layers of newspapers or one layer of cardboard between the beds. Press with stones, grass or sawdust, so as not to blow off.
2. Grocery pots from newspapers
From old newspapers, free cups for seedlings are obtained, while they are also environmentally friendly. Twist the newspaper into the cylinder (for example, around the bottle), bent the bottom or fix with tape, and then pour the ground, set the seeds. When transplanting, plant directly with paper – it will decompose.
3. Cardboard against pests
Lay out pieces of cardboard around the trunks of trees or bushes – ants, caterpillars and other pests will not climb to the fruits.
4. Warm beds with maculatory
Cardboard and newspapers are the basis for warm beds that give a crop before the deadline. Put the waste paper on the bottom of the beds, pour compost, grass and earth on top. The paper holds heat and nourishes the soil until it decomposes.
5. Storage of crop with newspapers
Transfer the fruits with newspapers in boxes or wrap each fruit separately, and then cover the box with a cloth. The paper absorbs moisture, and the fruits do not deteriorate. Check the boxes every couple of weeks, remove rotten fruits.
