The Russians managed to modernize the Mobile Iskander-M system and Kinżal ballistic rockets, “Financial Times” said on Thursday, citing Ukrainian and Western officials. In their opinion, improved missiles bypass Ukrainian anti -aircraft defense.

According to experts, Russian missiles are currently moving around a typical trajectory, but in the final phase the course changes in the form of a sharp diving or maneuvers that will confuse and bypass patriot systems capturing them. One of the former Ukrainian officials described this as “a breakthrough for Russia.”
As an example of the use of improved missiles by the Russian British army, the British daily indicated the bombings that took place in the summer, when the goal was, among others Ukrainian companies producing drones.
The newspaper cited public data of the Ukrainian Air Force, which shows that the ballistic missile capture rate in Ukraine in August reached 37 percent, but in September it fell to 6 percent.
American rocket Patriot systems are how “FT” resembled, the only Kiev Arsenal equipment capable of shooting down Russian ballistic missiles.
“A representative of the Western authorities, who became acquainted with the data on the effectiveness of the Patriot system, stated that the first signal of modernization of Russian bullets is a clear decrease in capture indicators. Here, a pattern emerged in which the incoming shells behaved differently in the final phase, departing from the previously established fire settings” – reads in the diary.
Both representatives of Ukraine and Western countries have announced that Kiev provides data on the use of the Patriot Pentagon and American air defense system producers, i.e. Raytheon from Virginia and Lockheed Martin from Maryland. The information provided is to be used to introduce updates necessary for keeping up with the changes introduced by Russia, but one of the officials stated that these improvements often do not keep up with the changes taking place in Moscow tactics.
“FT” reminded that “Ukraine did not disclose information about the number of Patriot batteries they owned or where they are arranged, but it is known that at least six of them were delivered, and elements of at least three subsequent ones have been delivered in recent weeks by Germany and Norway.”
Recently, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelanski asked his allies to provide more systems, even offering the purchase of 10 of them.
