Unlocking funds for Hungary subject to reforms. The EC sets 27 requirements

Peter Magyar's crushing victory in the Hungarian electionsit raised hopes in Brussels for a change in Budapest's political course. The Hungarian politician, who previously worked as a diplomat in Brussels, announced at a press conference that his country is ready for compromises and wants to be a “constructive partner”.

Brussels' conditions for Hungary
Frozen funds, including, as the Financial Times reminds, EUR 18 billion from the EU budget and EUR 17 billion of cheap loans, were suspended due to allegations of violating the rule of law, corruption and limiting the independence of the courts.
The European Commission expects the new government to meet a number of requirements, such as: joining the European Public Prosecutor's Office, establishing a national anti-corruption agency and reversing Viktor Orban's decisions found to be contrary to EU rules. In total, there are as many as 27 conditions on the list.
