Poor news for the Moldovan highway – from six -term lots at the end of the year, only a section and a half will be open to traffic: “This is the optimistic scenario” / as it looks now – Video

In Moldova there are currently six lots of the A7 highway, all with an official term of completion the end of 2025. There are almost 173 kilometers, all built by the group of OMB companies, but the vast majority will not be ready on time. CNAIR confirms for HotNews.ro What are the only portions that will be ready to open traffic in 2025.
From A7, in Moldova, RAM currently builds six lots – three lots from Focșani to Bacău (96 km) and three lots from Bacău to Pașcani (77 km). All lots have the end of the end of this year, but at the end of the year the traffic will be opened only on a section and a half.
“This year the traffic from Focșani will be opened to Adjud. The rest to Pașcani will be ready next year,” confirmed for HotNews.ro Alin Șerbănescu, the spokesman of the Highway Company (CNAIR).
Basically, this is Lot 1 Focșani-Bacău, from Focșani to Domnești-Târg (35.6 km) and about 16 km from Lot 2 (total 38.8 km), from Domnești-Târg to the road node north of Adjud.
“It is a problem related to money, the uncertainty of the last months related to financing,” says Șerbănescu, which refers to the renegotiation of PNRR terms by the Ministry of European Funds and the move for full financing with non -reimbursable funds of the six lots in A7 in the Moldovan area.

Walk could receive time extensions
The Romanian RAMM builder has an official term November for all the contracts on A7 where he works. “It is possible” to ask for a time extension, the CNAIR official recognizes.
“At the moment I am within the term of the contract. If they request extension on the basis of relevant arguments, we will analyze,” said Șerbănescu.
However, he stresses that the most important deadline for these projects is August 2026, the deadline when all projects on non -reimbursable funds must be ready.
“The term of reference is August 2026. This is the only relevant term. And if money is allocated, then all will be ready,” says Șerbănescu.

There is also a pessimistic scenario
“For Focșani-Adjud there are chances, but we are talking about an optimistic scenario. Or let's say optimistic-real,” explains for HotNews.ro Ionuț Ciurea, the executive director of the Pro Infrastructure Association (API, one of the most active organizations in the civil society that monitors the big infrastructure projects.
“The pessimistic scenario would be that it does not finish the piece from Focșani and it remains to open only Tișița-Adjud,” he says.
“In 2026 the piece of colds – Bacău should be the first to be opened. And after the next three lots will come, from Bacău to Pașcani, to August, you will focus on PNRR. LAM will have to focus and pull Maxim for the money from PNRR, because on two of three lots there is no money. (no non -reimbursable PNR funds) ”, says the API representative.

Great Win in 2025: Bypassing Buzau and Adjud
In any scenario of inaugurations, at the end of the year, one thing is certain: two of the “plugs” on DN2 (E85) to and from Moldova will be bypassed – Adjud and Buzău.
With the opening of traffic on Lot 1 in Buzău – Focșani in July and the expected completion on A7 Ploiești – Buzău, lot 3 by the Turks from Nurol in December, the drivers will be able to travel to and from Moldova only on the highway, bypassing the municipality of Buzau on the high speed.
At the same time, if the A7 will be opened from Focșani to north of Adjud, then the highway will also work as a belt for the municipality of Adjud which is crossed by DN2/E85.
CNAIR chief said in May that A7 to Pașcani will be ready in 2025
CNAIR chief said in May that in 2025 much of the sections of A7 would be ready.
“Basically, by the end of 2025, 268 km from the 319 km of the A7 highway built by PNRR (no from Ploiești to Pașcani) will be circulated. During 2026 the last 51 kilometers of A7 will be completed, which will provide the connection with the A8 highway in the town of Pașcani,” said Cristian Pistol, CNAr.
Now, according to the present situation, only 93.9 km will be open to traffic until the end of the year: 42.3 km on A7 Ploiești – Buzău, lots 2 and 3 and 51.6 km from Focșani to Adjud. Basically, at the end of 2025 it will be possible to travel on almost 214 km from A7.
The “Moldovei” Highway A7
The “Moldovei” A7 highway is a high -speed road of almost 450 km from Ploiești to Siret, the border with Ukraine. The A7 highway is located in different stages of implementation: 120 km in use, 215 kilometers in work and almost 115 km in auction, out of a total of about 450 km Ploiești – Siret.
It is also called the “spine” of the road infrastructure for Moldova because it crosses the region from north to south, linking it with Muntenia and to take over all heavy and transit traffic on DN2 (E85), one of the most crowded and dangerous national roads in the country.
Of the 14 lots contracted so far on A7, 11 are signed with RAM (5 completed sections), all in the region of Moldova.
Two other sections, from Pașcani to Suceava, are attributed to the PLA, but the contracts have not yet been signed. Basically, from Buzău to Pașcani and further to Suceava, all the A7 is or will be built by the companies related to Dorinel Umbrărescu's pamper.
