Dolj and Olt counties enter after 18.00 under a red code important quantitative rains and wind intensifications that is valid until Saturday morning, according to the National Meteorological Administration. In fact, the southern half of the country is currently under the orange code. As a result of the abundant rainfall in the country, rivers in 5 counties in the south of the country enter Friday, from 4 pm, under the red flood risk code, the National Institute of Hydrology and Water Management said.

As a result of meteorological warnings, the Emergency Department announced on Thursday that it had, preventively, convene the county committees for emergency situations and the county coordination and leadership centers in the areas under the red and orange codes.

In addition, DSU ordered the activation of the DSU operational group, together with IGSU, for monitoring the registered situations and the disposition of additional measures to make the response missions more efficient, as well as ensuring permanence in the localities targeted by the bad weather codes, at the level of the local authorities.

Heavy rains in the south of the country

According to ANM, between October 2, at 10 to 4 October, 10 o'clock, the rains will gradually expand from the southwest, throughout the country. Important amounts of water will accumulate, 25 – 50 l/sqm, and in the southern regions of over 70 – 90 l/sqm. In the mountain there will be mixed rainfall, and at altitudes of over 1500 m it will be temporarily snowy and snow layer will be deposited.

In Dolj and Olt counties. In the 5th October, 6:00 pm – October 3, 9:00 pm is in force a red rainfall code. Here, it will rain abundantly and the water quantities of 100 … 110 l/sqm will accumulate, according to ANM.

In the counties of Caraș-Severin, Mehedinți, Dolj, Olt, Vâlcea, Gorj, Teleorman, Argeș, Dâmbovița and Prahova it will rain important and water quantities of 70 … 80 l/sqm and isolated over 90 l/sqm.

Red code of flood

Between 12:00 – Sunday at 12:00, there is a red flood code on 5 counties in the country. The National Institute of Hydrology and Water Management warns that there can be important leaks on slopes, torrents and streams, fast floods on small rivers with possible local flood effects and flows and levels on some rivers.

The rivers from the hydrographic basins are targeted: Danube – the small tributaries related to the downstream sector SH Gruia – upstream confluence with the Desnţui river (counties: Mehedinti and Dolj), Desnăţui – upstream basin. The fountains and tributaries related to the downstream sector AC. Fântânele (counties: Mehedinti and Dolj), Jiu – right tributaries related to the downstream sector confluence with the Motru river (counties: Mehedinti and Dolj), Olt – tributaries related to the downstream sector AC. Drăgăşani – upstream confluence with the Olteţ river (counties: Vâlcea and Olt), Olteţ – the tributaries related to the downstream sector confluence with the Cerna river (counties: Vâlcea, Olt and Dolj), Olt – the tributaries related to the downstream sector confluence with the Olteţ river:

Between Fridays 06:00 – Saturday 24:00 is an orange code on rivers in Caraș Severin, Gorj, Mehedinți, Dolj, Argeș, Olt, Teleorman, Dâmbovița, Giurgiu. Prahova, Ialomița and Ilfov. Also, from Friday at 8:00 pm until Saturday 12:00, an orange code warning on the rivers in the Putna river basins in Vrancea county is in force.
