“This hope is based on a fragile balance, whose fall would make many happy. I am afraid that an excuse may be an attempt to cross the Israeli sea blockade by a flotilla” – added Melons.
Then she pointed out: “For this reason I also think that the flotilla should stop now and accept various suggestions for safe provision of help.”
“Each other decision carries the risk that it will transform into an excuse to prevent peace, fuel the conflict and hit in this way primarily into the population of the Gaza Zone, which, as the saying, wants to take help. This is a time of seriousness and responsibility,” said the Italian prime minister.
War in the Gaza Strip. Poles flow with humanitarian aid
The global Sumud Flotilla is an international initiative in which representatives of over 40 countries participate. On board the units included in it also includes Poles, among them MP Franciszek Sterczewski, president of the Polish Palestinian Social and Cultural Association, Omar Faris, president of the Nomada Nina Ptak Association, and journalist and activist Ewa Jasiewicz, author of the book “Stock Gaza”. The Italian delegation includes several parliamentarians, among others.
The agreement proposed by Trump assumes the permanent end of hostilities, the release of Israeli hostages in exchange for Palestinian prisoners and detainees, increasing the influx of humanitarian aid and the reconstruction of Palestinian territory.
Hamas would give power and submit a weapon, and the gauze zone would be ruled by the Provisional Palestinian administration. International stabilization forces would also be arranged there. The whole would be managed by the International Peace Council led by Trump. Ultimately, the reformed Palestinian autonomy would take power over the Gaza Strip.
The contract states that the inhabitants of the Gaza Zone will not be forced to leave it, and will even be encouraged to stay in it. The Israeli occupation or annexation was also excluded. Israeli troops would gradually retreat from the Gaza Zone along with the takeover of responsibility by stabilization forces and demilitarization of this territory.
