George Simion and hundreds of gold supporters protest in Bucharest: “We want early elections, we want to return to democracy”

Hundreds of supporters of the Gold Party, led by leader George Simion, went out on Sunday, to protest the austerity measures and to request the organization of early elections.

The protesters started from the Parliament Palace and arrived in Victoriei Square, where they managed to enter the area specially arranged for protests, after initially the law enforcement blocked their access.
Simion has published on his Facebook page a video from this evening protest.
Images were also distributed on Tiktok by various participants in the demonstration.
George Simion said in front of the crowd that the protest aims to defend democracy and rejection “Abuses of the current governance”.
“We want anticipated elections, we want the return to democracy and the constitutional framework and stop the political files that have been made in recent months (…) said President Gold, according to Agerpres.
Simion has accused the current power of making political pressures by instrumentation of files and urged the Romanians to “Refuses to get an illegitimate government.”
“We are in the same situation of coup and we, as Romanians, have the duty, by all means, going out, demonstrating, refusing to pay taxes and taxes, not to make this illegitimate government,” the gold leader completed.
The protesters have with them tricolor flags and banners with anti-government messages, they chanted support slogans for the golden leader and against the parties in power.
According to George Simion, similar protests are held on Sunday in about 40 cities in the country.
