President Nicușor Dan told Euronews on Tuesday that he will be able to make estimates on the inflation level of 2026 only after the budget for 2026, “which will happen in November 2025”.

“We will be able to have an estimate on this issue when we will define the budget on 2026, which will happen in November 2025, that is, over a month and a half. Two. Now the Ministry of Finance has just completed the calculations for rectification, which will take us until the end of 2025,” said Nicușor Dan.

The president recalled that the rectification project was put into public debate.

“After we are going to rectify, a discussion with all the ministries, the agencies, the Ministry of Funds, with the project holders, will start again, to what extent they can be stretched so that the 2026 tax burden is not so big, and when we have the budget on the second, to the second, to the second, he continued.

Nicușor Dan said that inflation will probably be “between 9% and 10%” at the end of 2025.

“If you ask me about 2025, it will probably be between 9% and 10%, so here we can estimate it because we have the data that were collected for rectification. About there will be,” added President Nicușor Dan.

Inflation, measured by the National Institute of Statistics through the consumer price index, climbed to 9.9%, from almost 8% in the previous month. The economists who discussed Hotnews said we could expect a two -digit inflation this fall.
