In Krasnoyarsk, the president of the charity fund will be faced with court for theft of budget funds, the regional prosecutor's office said.

In December 2020, the Krasnoyarsk, on behalf of the “must live” charity foundation, concluded an agreement with the Ministry of Ecology of the Krasnoyarsk Territory and received almost 1.5 million rubles for the environmental project “Second Life of Resources”.

A year later, in April 2021, the man turned to the regional center for supporting public initiatives with the Ecological Partnership project. He knew about the ban on re -apply for the subsidy before the expiration of the first agreement, but became a participant in the program, without indicating the information about the previously received financing. Another 981 thousand rubles transferred to the fund.

As a report, the president of the fund sent documents that he had previously sent to the Ministry of Ecology. He left the funds he received, and in 2022 he again submitted an application for the same state program, receiving another 1.5 million rubles.

“In order to legalize part of the stolen, the accused transferred them to the account of the Afghanistan Veterans Fund“ Gratitude ”, which also headed,” the prosecutor’s office explained.

The president of the Foundation “We must live” was charged with fraud (part 3, 4 of article 159.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), as well as in legalization of funds using official position (Clause “B” of part 3 of article 174.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). He faces up to 10 years in prison. The man refused to plead guilty and compensate for the damage. The decision to recover funds will be made by the court in the suit of the prosecutor's office.
