The Podlasie Border Guard announced that at the weekend in Sokole (about 25 km from the border with Belarus) a package was found with the remains of a meteorological balloon. After a closer examination, it turned out that she contained OK. 1.5 thousand Cigarettes without excise duty. The services made a similar discovery in the town of Straszewo.
“The officers revealed the remains of a balloon with a package, in which excise goods were in the form 1.5 thousand cigarette packs. Officers from the facility in Krynki, around the border, also revealed 1.5 thousand packs of cigarettes without Polish excise stamps with a total value of over 26,000 zloty” – we read in the Border Guard announcement.

The services, in connection with the illegal smuggling of cigarettes, stopped two Poles near Bialystok. According to the message of Podlasie border guards, in total In seven events, over 10,000 were revealed. packages of illegal cigarettes with an estimated value of nearly 185,000 zloty. Detained persons will hear allegations from the Tax Criminal Code.
“In Belarus, if you don't count individual traders, smuggling is the work of one criminal group that replaced all others. Since the beginning of the year, Podlasie border guards have found over 100 events related to illegal smuggling products without excise duty with meteorological balloons. The estimated value of secured cigarettes smuggled across the border in this way amounted to a total of over PLN 2.5 million.
