Donald Trump's plan for the Gaza Strip

The document presented by the American leader specifies a number of actions aimed at calming the tense situation in the region. One of the key points of the plan is the destruction of Hamas Arsenal and the introduction of conditional amnesty for fighters willing to accept peaceful coexistence. At the same time, it was foreseen to safely leave the region by members of the organization who decide to emigrate.
Israel would also free 250 prisoners with life sentences and over 1,700 inhabitants of the Gaza Zone detained after the events of October 2023. As part of the exchange, the transmission of Palestinian victims was also planned in exchange for the bodies of Israeli hostages. The document draws attention to the need to immediately provide humanitarian aid to Gaza, although it remains unclear who exactly will be responsible for the implementation and financing of these activities.
The proposal provides for the establishment of temporary administration in the Gaza Zone, which is to be managed by “qualified Palestinians and international experts” under the supervision of a new international body. At the same time, it assumes the reform of the Palestinian autonomy, which would ultimately take over full control over this area. To ensure stability, the US plans to establish international stabilization forces that would monitor the situation in the Gaza Strip during the gradual transmission of Israel by the defensive forces of control over Palestinian territory. Israeli military presence would be limited only to “perimeter presence”.
The plan strongly emphasizes that no Gaza resident will be forced to leave their home, and those who decide to leave will be able to return. Israel would additionally commit to a non -loving approach to the region, giving up the occupation and the annexation of the Gaza Strip. Israel's recognition of Qatar as an important mediator in peaceful talks was also mentioned.
“Maybe we have an agreement on the Gaza Strip. We are very close … I think this agreement will allow us to recover the hostages. It will be an agreement that will end the war” – said the US president, presenting a proposal during one of the last speeches.
Israel and Hamas have still not accepted the document
The Washington Post emphasizes that despite intensive diplomatic actions, neither the Israeli authorities or Hamas have decided to accept a document that has just over three pages. The plan was to be recently presented to the countries of the region and American allies during a high level of talks at the UN headquarters.
According to the disclosed details, the implementation of the reforms contained in it is ultimately to create “conditions for a reliable path to Palestinian statehood”, which the document recognizes as “aspiration of the Palestinian nation.”
