UPDATE 18:20 “Liviu Ungurean” Bocciu “will go to Ploiești, but he would not enter the stadium
Liviu Ungurean, also called “Bocciu”, the leader of the Gallery from Rapid, was going to return to the Vișinie lawn after a year and a half, after the judicial control was raised on Wednesday. It will be in Ploiești for the match with Oil, from the 11th stage.
But from the latest information, it will not enter the stadium itself. The reason? The prosecutors challenged the decision, within the legal term, and the action totally changed the problem data,
At the last match I lost 45 minutes and did not understand why. Maybe I didn't feel them before the match, I was too sure we would make a good match and take the 3 points. And when I analyzed the match, I said the same thing, I told the players, I lost 45 minutes, I want to never happen again.
A team can lose, but you have to play what I trained during the week, have attitude and courage. It depends on us, it depends on our performance in the field and, of course, we must win. All the time is pressure, all the time we want to take the 3 points.
They brought a coach who knows the first division very well and will be more complicated. We want to win, they have pretty good players, they also show it in the last championship. We hope to leave with the 3 points from Ploiești.– Costel Gâlcă, fast coach
A brief history of rivalry between oil and Rapid
Working teams, both represented close social classes, but different cities and identities. The rivalry between Ploiești Petroleum and Rapid București was officially born on May 16, 1954, with the first direct duel: Flacăra Ploiești – Locomotive Bucharest 0-2.
Since then, history has gathered dozens of memorable episodes, from the first success of the Ploiesti in 1956 and the title conquered by Prahoveni in 1966, even to the detriment of the Rapid, until the unique moment of July 1967, when Rapid celebrated his first title in Ploiești.
The rivalry continued in the following decades with decisive matches, simultaneous relegations, legend confrontations in front of tens of thousands of spectators and with the dramatic final of the 1995 Cup, won by Giulesti.
The most important information provided by GSP statistician Liviu Manolache:
-
March 24, 1963, Rapid-Petrol 6-1, the clearest victory in the account of Giulesti in the direct duels (championship). In just a few months (September 22, 1963), also on the land of “Vişiniilor”, the petrolists took revenge with a 6-0, a score that recorded a double historic: the clearest victory in the history of the oil on the move;

-
The 1965/66 season brought the last title in oil history, the direct opponent being rapidly. The match that made the difference was the one in the 16th round (March 31, 1966), a match won by Oil with 1-0, thanks to the direct goal from the corner successful by Virgil Didea. However, it should be mentioned that the starting formula aligned by Valentin Stanescu entered four juniors, taking the place of the law holders, patients at the time of the game.
-
In the next edition, 1966/67, Rapid celebrated the first title right on the opponents arena, after drawing without a goal. The story of the story of June 11, 1967 remained in the history of football, when the “Giulestii” returned to the triumph from Ploiesti, the whole road to the house being a holiday.
-
The fight between the two continued in the next decade. In March 70, Oil defeated 2-0 and triggered the decline of Giulesti, who losing the title in front of the Aradians.
-
At the end of the 1973/74 season, the former champions relegated together in the second step. The Rapid would return in 1975, only for two years. In 1977, Oil promoted, but also immediately relegated.

Assisted the old arena in Ghencea to the success of the rapists 5-1 (Manea – double, Damaschin, Ion, Şt. Popa / Cosarek). Although they score in the direct match, the end of the season found on Ploiesti on the promotion place, because the fact that the people of Bucharest treated the games that followed in their unmistakable style.
