Barcelona terminated its sponsorship deal with Zero-Knowledge Proof (ZKP), a company related to blockchain technology, just weeks after the deal was announced.

The club confirmed on Wednesday that the partnership, signed on November 14 and due to run until 2028, had been canceled due to a breach of contract.

Barcelona has decided to terminate the sponsorship contract signed with the company Zero-Knowledge Proof (ZKP), which had become the club's official crypto partner until 2028, according to Marca.

Barcelona's legal department acted swiftly after it emerged the firm was owned by Andrew Tate, who faces multiple criminal charges in the UK. Concerns were heightened when ZKP launched a new token promoted exclusively by Tate, sparking fears that Barcelona fans could be misled into a potentially fraudulent investment.

The club confirmed on Wednesday that the partnership, signed on November 14 and due to run until 2028, had been canceled due to a breach of contract.

As a result of the breach of the agreed contractual conditions and after carrying out the appropriate checks and analyzes by the Compliance and Legal departments of the club, FC Barcelona found that there are actions that do not comply with the terms and conditions established in the signed sponsorship agreement.

Consequently, FC Barcelona proceeded to terminate the aforementioned contract.

The club reiterates that it has no connection with any token associated with that company, nor any responsibility or participation in its issuance or management, and that these elements were not stipulated in the signed agreement.

FC Barcelona reaffirms its commitment to transparency, the protection of its institutional reputation and the rigorous observance of the agreements it signs.

Behind the ZKP is Britain's Andrew Tate, a former kickboxer with 21 charges in the British court system, including rape, human trafficking, assault and controlling prostitution. The Tate brothers had problems with the law, including in Romania.
