Experts talked about methods of protection against paid services imposed by banks, which are often connected without the clear consent of customers. We are talking about insurance when applying for loans, paid SMS notifications and services of credit history monitoring services.

According to the publication of Yamal 1 with reference to the RT material, the entrepreneur Denis Astafyev explained that the imposition of additional services is prohibited by the Law on the Protection of Consumer Rights.

“The bank may offer different loan conditions, but the client has the right to choose an insurer or completely abandon insurance,” the expert said.

Experts recommend carefully studying the contracts before signing, request a complete list of paid services and check the final cost of the loan. If the unnecessary service was connected, it can be canceled within 30 days with a full return of the insurance premium.

In case of violation of consumer rights, you can file a complaint with the Bank of Russia or to the financial ombudsman. These measures will help to protect yourself from unscrupulous banking practices and avoid unreasonable expenses.
