Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski on Tuesday expressed his satisfaction of the “change of attitude” of his American counterpart Donald Trump in the war in Ukraine, after he said that Kiev is able to win against Moscow, AFP reports.
“This statement by Donald Trump is a major turning point,” Zelenski said at a press conference, referring to the message posted by the US president on his social social network after their New York meeting, in the UN General Assembly margin.
Donald Trump “clearly understands the situation and is well informed about all aspects of this war,” Volodimir Zelenski also welcomed in a post on social networks.
Donald Trump, completely changing his approach to the conflict in Ukraine, believed on Tuesday that Ukraine could “regain its territory in its original form and can even go further” against Russia, AFP notes.
“For three and a half years, Russia has a war without a clear direction that a real military power would have won in less than a week,” wrote the US president on his social social network, considering that Vladimir Putin's country “resembles a paper tiger.”
Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski rejects any transfer of territories to Russia, who, on his side, rejects any troops from NATO countries as a security guarantee for Ukraine, and the latter European allies still assure all the support if the war will continue.
