– Trump is absolutely right. We are working on it – said von der Leyen, cited by the Reuters agency during a short meeting at the UN headquarters.

She stated that she wanted European countries to finish the import of Russian oil by the end of this year.

Trump, in turn, praised the head of the EC, describing it as “A very influential, very intelligent woman and friend”, adding that “she performs fantastic work, managing many different countries”.

Earlier, the US President met with the UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, as well as with President Argentina Javier Mileim. Despite the critical words about the UN, Trump assured his support for the organization and assured that it had great unrealized potential.

– I never thought about it too much. And then, recently, I started thinking, you know: the UN never helped us. The UN has great potential, huge potential. I hope that she will extinguish the war herself. I mean that one day he will do what I can and should be able to do it – said Trump. He also stated that the UN was doing fantastic work in peacekeeping missions, but he mentioned that she failed to stop the war in Ukraine.

During the meeting with Mileim, the US president announced help for Argentina in the face of the financial crisis and gave him full support.
