Greece tourism has registered the best month of July in history, and a record level of arrivals and revenues in the first seven months this year, informs to Vima and Kathimerini, taken over by Agerpres.

During January-July 2025, the arrivals of foreign visitors climbed 2.6%annually, while tourism revenues increased at 12.5%annually, reaching 12.182 billion euros, according to data published by the Central Bank of Greece (BOG).

And the data on passenger traffic at August airports show the same upward trend.

The increase of tourism revenues, combined with the increase of exports, contributed to a decrease in the country's current account deficit, which reduced to 6.7 billion euros, in the first seven months this year, compared to the similar period of 2024.

Analysts expect Greece to record another solid year on the tourism segment, a key engine of the economy. Last year, the revenues of the Greek state in tourism reached 21.7 billion euros, increasing from 20.6 billion euros, in 2023.

Tourism is responsible for more than a quarter of Greece GDP and provides a means of living for almost two million Greeks.
