Former Polish deputy minister: an unbelievable scandal that Europe did not defend the Ukrainian sky

Piotr Kulpa in the years 2004-2005 was the deputy minister of economy and work. Later he worked, among others at the Ministry of Health. He was also the secretary of the Polish delegation in the NATO Parliamentary Assembly.

In an interview with Ukrainian television, Espreso TV said that “an unbelievable scandal is that in Ukraine, which defends Europe, a piece of safe sky was created over the territory of Ukraine, whose security could be ensured.” – Especially since there is a reason – preventing attack on your own countries – he added.

In his opinion, this is due to the fact that the army has his hands tied through US decisions. – For example, the Polish army was created and exists as a NATO auxiliary army. The Polish army does not have its own “buttons” and the possibilities of action without Washington's consent. And this is Washington's conscious policy, who does not want his allies to have the possibility of escalation, ”Kulpa assessed.

– It is so that Ukraine has knowledge, technologies and organizational models necessary to quickly rebuild the army. Many organizations involved in Poland's defense talk about it – says Piotr Kulpa.

He added that the key to breaking this formula is cooperation, thanks to which the Ukrainian army will be able to help the Baltic countries and prepare Poland.

– I want to say one more thing. If Putin actually attacks Poland and the Baltic States, this fact will immediately make Ukraine part of the defense system, a part of NATO. It is a factor that appears on a horizontal level, regardless of whether Washington likes it, because then we are on the same front. And today we can support Ukraine as much as possible – he assessed.
