The coal energy mining company from Ukraine, listed on the WSE, analyzes the possibility of extracting from deposits around Bytom and Zabrze. However, the energy coal available there is a raw material from which Poland wants to leave – writes “Puls Biznesu” on Friday.

At the end of April, Coal Energy signed a letter of intent with the Siltech mining plant from Zabrze. The cooperation is to apply to the use by Coal Energy infrastructure belonging to Siltech to possible coal extraction – we read in “PB”. These options apply to both coal in new concession areas located near the mine, as well as in mining areas of existing Siltech licenses. At the end of 2025, mining licenses belonging to Siltech will cease to apply – reminds the newspaper.
As Puls Biznesu writes, Coal Energy declares that the priority is to extract coal coal, which is on the EU list of critical raw materials. The company, however, does not reject the possibility of the production of energy coal and claims that there will still be a demand for this raw material both in Poland and in Ukraine.
The newspaper reminds the recent statement of the main geologist of the country Krzysztof Galos, who estimated that in the case of coaling coal, the potential possibility of new extraction remains open, provided that the investor submits the appropriate application for a concession and undergoes all further stages of proceedings.
