Monarez appeared on Wednesday before the Senate Health Committee, telling about the circumstances of her dismissal by Kennedy after just 29 days of work. “It is possible that diseases that can be prevented will return and that our children will suffer from things they should not suffer,” she said.

Monarez appeared before the commission less than two weeks after Kennedy gave his testimony. He said he released the former head of CDC because she told him that she was not a trustworthy person.
