Will InPost disappear from the stock exchange?
Anna Wnuk, director of the Polish Association of Capital Investors, believes that the most likely scenario for InPost is delisting, i.e. withdrawal from the stock exchange.
The expert explained that decisions of this type are often made in order to restructure or implement a new strategy, the details of which the company wants to keep secret from the competition. – This would be another case after Comarch where the company decides to take such a step – noted Wnuk.
According to press reports, one of the potential interested parties in the takeover is the American fund Advent International Corporation, which currently holds 6.50%. InPost shares.
Wnuk indicated that the fund could create a consortium with the Czech PPF group, which is the company's largest shareholder (28.75 percent of shares). The expert added that the company's delisting could indicate plans for a new development strategy, requiring active support from private equity funds.
Impact on investors and the stock exchange
Wnuk emphasized that the possible withdrawal of InPost from the stock exchange may have a negative impact on the perception of the stock exchange as a place for advanced companies to raise capital. She pointed out that individual investors and investment funds managing the savings of Poles also benefited from InPost's successes, who would lose the opportunity to make profits from this company after delisting.
Rafał Brzoska, founder, president and shareholder of InPost (12.49%), according to Wnuk, certainly knows the details of the submitted offer and will play a key role in making the decision. – Mr. Brzoska is the face of this company and it would certainly lose its value if the planned activities were carried out without his involvement. – she pointed out.
