Trump and XI Jinping close to the agreement. What was established?

The administration of Donald Trump signaled at the beginning of the week that Talks on Tiktok are at an advanced stage. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced on Monday that negotiators from the United States and China agreed the basic principles of the future of the application, which is still facing the risk of ban on operations in the USA.
President Trump on Tuesday declared that The Tiktok's agreement has already been developed, and the conversation with XI Jinping was to serve only to confirm the findings. Bytedance, a Chinese owner of Tiktok, has to face an ultimatum resulting from American federal law – The company was obliged to sell the American part of the platform or close it in the United States.
Trump, who repeatedly emphasized his support for Tiktok and assigned the application to influence on the presidential election in 2024, moved the deadline for the implementation of the ultimatum several times. On Tuesday, he signed an executive regulation, which extended the time to make a decision by December 16.
During the state visit to Great Britain, President Trump expressed his position on Tiktok, emphasizing that he wanted to maintain applications in the United States. According to the report, during a meeting in Chequers, the residence of the British prime minister, Trump pointed out that talks with XI Jinping are aimed at finalizing the agreement, because Tiktok is of great value for him.
Support for the Act on Tiktoku
The Act on Tiktok, aimed at protecting US citizens against the potential use of applications for surveillance or manipulation by foreign entities, received the support of representatives of both political parties. Former President Joe Biden signed it in April 2024, imposing on Bytedance the obligation to withdraw the investment until January 19, under the threat of a ban on operations in the United States.
Trump, taking the office, decided to extend this date on the first day of his term, and then did it three times. Bytedance is still facing the need to make a decision that will decide about the future of Tiktok on the American market.
