The first people from Metaloglobus called to hearings in the betting scandal are Bogdan Codruț Crăciun (former masseur of the team), Mihai Alexandru Toader (goalkeeper coach) and Cristian Nicolae Nedelcovici (reserve goalkeeper of the team from Pantelimon).

Their names appear in a file pending before the Disciplinary Commission of the FRF, opened following a notification made by the Romanian Football Federation itself, with a deadline set for May 25, 2026. At this moment, the procedure represents a stage of analysis and hearing within the disciplinary investigation, without a possible sanction or official conclusion regarding the guilt of those involved yet appearing in the public document consulted.

The Metaloglobus betting scandal shocked the Superliga in November

In November, it emerged that several footballers from Metaloglobus had opened accounts on betting sites and would have even bet against his own team, through a staff member, masseur Bogdan Codruț Crăciun.

One of the matches under the attention of the investigators was Metaloglobus – Oțelul 0-4, a match on which the respective group allegedly bet “10,000 euros only on the fact that we will score at least two goals in the first half”.

Following the information that appeared, the Integrity Department of the FRF started an investigation regarding the matches of the Bucharest team. The scandal later escalated after the club's former masseur made shocking statementsclaiming that he had come to the team precisely to gather information that would increase his chances of winning bets. It then ended up before the FRF Integrity Department for hearings. Today, the names of those called to the hearings are mentioned for the first time.

Nedelcovici, the only footballer whose name appears on the FRF website, has 4 games in the current season, three times entering the break.
