The case of the Secretary of State in the Ministry of Economy detained by the DNA. The career and wealth of Flavius Nedelcea, accused of abuse in service

Flavius Nedelcea, Secretary of State in the Ministry of Economy, was detained by the prosecutors of the National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA) for 24 hours, on Friday, in a file in which he is accused of committing the crime of inciting abuse in service, in continuous form.
According to the prosecutors, at the instigation of Flavius Nedelcea, the ANPC chief ordered the temporary move of the deputy chief of the consumer's protection in Caraș-Severin “in completely different purposes than the interest of the institution, respectively to satisfy individual, private or group interests”.
In the same file, DNA announced on Friday that the president of ANPC, Sebastian Ioan Hotca, and the director of the institution, Anghel Silviu Paul, were under judicial control.
PSD member with multiple public functions
Flavius Nedelcea occupies a position of Secretary of State in the Ministry of Economy of April 2022. The Secretary General of the Government, Radu Oprea, told Hotnews on Friday that Nedelcea will be changed.
Government sources said for Hotnews that the Minister of Economy, Radu Miruță, was planning to replace him before the DNA action, with a replacement address recently signed by the minister.
Between 2020 and 2022, Flavius Nedelcea was commercial director at SC Eden Petroleum SRL, partner of OMV Petrom Marketing SRL, according to the CV on the ministry's website.
Previously, in the period 2012-2020, Nedelcea was a county councilor in Caraș-Severin, and in the last three years of mandate he held the position of vice president.
At the same time, between 2011 and 2017 he was director of commercial sales at Eden Petroleum.
G4Media.ro wrote that Nedelcea is close to the Baron PSD Caransebeș, Ion Mocioalcă, whose fine, Singh Bhupinder, the manager of the Caransebeș Municipal Emergency Hospital, was detained on the same day with Nedelcea and is accused of DNA of taking bribes, and at the man's domicile, the prosecutors found 28.890 euros, 2890 euros, 500 francs, 96,200 lei and 5,000 forint.
Other positions that appear in the CV of Flavius Nedelcea are: Commercial Sales Director of the West area in Petrom (2005-2010), local councilor in Reșița (2000-2004), head of service on marketing, commercial, public relations, transport within SNP Petrom SA Caraș-Severin (2000-2005) and specialized inspector in financial control-Ministry of Financial Control- Caraș-Severin (1999-2000).
As a level of studies, Flavius Nedelcea obtained licenses of electromechanical engineer (1992-1998) and economist (1994-1998) at the Faculty of Economic Sciences Reșița at the “Eftimie Murgu” University and has gone a training program (2005-2007) to Management Development Institute.
Income from the ministry and from several administration councils
The declaration of wealth on the website of the Ministry of Economy, completed on May 20, 2025, shows that Flavius Nedelcea received from the ministry, in the last fiscal year, a salary of 116,808 lei. Other revenues were: 14,155 lei as a member of the IOR Board of Directors, 85,878 lei as a member of the Board of Directors of the Romanian Lottery and 257,916 lei as vice -president of the Inter -ministerial Committee.
His wife, Ramona Laura Nedelcea, received a salary of 37,548 lei as general director of Eden Petroleum. The declaration also includes an income of 152,000 from the repayment of a loan by the company.
The Secretary of State also declared a current account of 100,000 lei, but also bank deposits worth 215,000 lei, respectively 1,500 euros.
The two have two apartments together, in Reșița and Timișoara, an urban area of 1,000 square meters in Valiug in Caraș-Severin county and a forest land of 10,517 sqm in the same locality.
On the behalf of Flavius Nedelcea there is also a house from Izimșa, Mehedinți, an agricultural land of 17,600 sqm from Cujmir, the same county, an agricultural land of 10,000 square meters in the same locality, respectively an agricultural land of 23,351 sqm in Obârșia de Câmp, also in Mehedinți.
