US President Donald Trump asks Ukraine to accept “direct” direct discussions with Russia, in an attempt to put an end to the war, despite the fact that Vladimir Putin refused to accept a 30 -day prior armistice requested by European leaders and Kiev.
In a message posted on Sunday on his social network Truth Social, Trump wrote:
- “President Putin of Russia does not want to conclude a fire termination agreement with Ukraine, but rather wants to meet in Turkey on Thursday to negotiate a possible cessation of the blood bath. Ukraine should agree with this immediately.
- At least they will be able to determine if an agreement is possible or not, and if not possible, European leaders, as well as the US, will know how things are and will be able to proceed!
- I begin to doubt that Ukraine will conclude an agreement with Putin, who is too busy to celebrate victory in World War II, which could not have been won (by far!) Without the United States. Meet yourself, now !!! ”
Zelenski: “I will wait for Putin on Thursday. Personal”
Shortly after Trump's message, Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski announced, in an X message, that he accepts direct negotiations with Russia and will personally go to talk to Moscow in Istanbul, as the Kremlin leader proposed, even if his request was not accepted and the European leaders to be declared, days.
“We are waiting for a complete and durable cessation of fire, starting tomorrow (Monday – no), to provide the necessary basis for diplomacy. There is no point in extending the crimes,” says Zelenski.
“And I will wait for Putin on Thursday in Turkey. Personally,” announces the Ukrainian president.
“I hope this time the Russians will not look for excuses,” he adds at the end of the message.
We know a full and lasting cerefire, starting from Tomorrow, to Provide the Necessary Basis for Diplomacy. There is no point in prolonging the Killings. And I will be waiting for Putin in Türkiye on Thursday. Personally. I HOPE THAT THIS TIME THE RUSSIANS WILL NOT look for…
