– We received over $ 2 billion from our partners especially for PURL. In October we will get additional funds. I think we will have a total of $ 3-3.5 billion. The first two packages of 500 million, if I understand correctly. And what will happen in these packages? In these packages – I will not talk about all the details – there will certainly be rockets for Patriot and Himars – said Zelanski at a press conference in Kiev with the chairwoman of the European Parliament Roberta MetSola.

The administration of US President Donald Trump has so far sent weapons to Ukraine as part of packages approved by President Joe Biden. According to the new mechanism, announced by Trump before the June NATO summit in Hague, NATO will pay for new American deliveries. Norway, Denmark, Sweden and the Netherlands have so far announced the purchase of weapons for $ 1 billion, while Germany – for another 500 million under PURL.

According to Reuters, ultimately armament worth up to $ 10 billion is to be sent to Ukraine.

During the conference, Zelanski said, among others about the situation on the front of the war with Russia. He announced that within a few days he would inform about the losses that suffered the opponent's forces.

– The surgery in the Sumski District ended in failure for them, suffered great losses, primarily in people. For today – I don't know what will happen tomorrow – but for today they gave up this direction and transferred their funds and staff to another episode. I think they suffered even greater losses, which we will talk about in, I think, the next two days – he said.

– In our opinion, thanks to the successful actions of the Ukrainian armed forces, they (Russians – PAP) lost many people to conduct strong additional actions, these two operations. I think that today they will not have sufficient strength for mass operations – emphasized Zelanski.

He also assessed that operations, conducted by the Ukrainian army in the depths of Russian territory, bring results. – For a long time, the Russians hit our civil facilities, especially in energy. Also in railway facilities – you remember it. And they will continue, it's obvious. We, in turn, carried out some operations in response. I think they were also good and gave very good results. One operation lasted two months. And I think it caused a lot of social resonance in Russia – he said.

He revealed that his conversations with MetSola concerned, among others negotiations about Ukraine membership in the EU and humanitarian issues, as well as sanctions against Russia. The President of the EP assured that EU states would continue to weaken the Russian war machine.

– Together, we can prove Russia that its actions will not remain unanswered, and we will do it together to ensure deterrence to ensure peace. How will we do it? First of all, we will continue to weaken Russia's war machine through coordinated and raw sanctions – said Metsola.

– We will strengthen our humanitarian, military and diplomatic support for Ukraine, as well as we will intensify cooperation with international partners even more and invest in our own production of Ukraine – she emphasized.

The head of the EP added that Europe is close to the total departure from Russian oil and gas and “searching for reliable and safe partners, while fighting the Russian fleet of shadows.”

Metsola also assured that the European Parliament would support all efforts to conduct negotiations and discussions to open the first cluster of conversations about Ukraine membership in the EU.
