As “The Guardian” reports, the British Ministry of Defense confirmed that Typhoon aircraft will operate from the RAF Coningsby base in Lincolnshire and will be supported by Raf Voyager refueling planes in the air. Until July, six Typhoon aircraft were stationed in Poland as part of the airspace patrol mission.
The Prime Minister of Great Britain Keir Starmer said that “these aircraft are not only a show of strength, but are of key importance to stopping aggression, protecting NATO aircraft and protect the national security of our country and our allies.”

“The reckless behavior of Russia is a direct threat to the security of Europe and is a violation of international law, which is why Great Britain will support NATO efforts to strengthen the eastern flank through the Eastern Sentry surgery,” the Prime Minister of Great Britain added.

As the commentators of “The Guardian” note, the decision of the British government is not completely unexpected, “taking into account the history of Great Britain in conducting control operations in the region, including in Poland and Romania.”
Last week, “The Guardian” reminds that the British defense minister John Healey for the first time suggested it on Wednesday, a few hours after the invasion of Russian drones into the Polish airspace. Healey said then that he asked the British armed forces “to consider the possibility of strengthening NATO air defense over Poland.”
