The Ministry of Defense of the Czech Republic announced on Sunday on the X website that three helicopters from the Czech unit of special operations that are to fight drones are already in Poland. They should reach the final stationing place in the coming hours.

The entry announced that the Czech pilots would begin to protect the Polish sky in the near future. MI-171SZ machines from the unit of special operations are to be accompanied by up to 150 soldiers. They can operate in Poland up to three months.

Minister of Defense Jan Czernochov emphasized, appearing at noon in one of the programs of Czech public television, that help for Poland is implemented in accordance with last year's parliamentary decision, which allowed the strengthening by the Czech army of Eastern Flanka NATO to strengthen the countries of NATO in 2025 and 2026. Czech soldiers act by this mandate in Lithuania, Slovakia and Latvia.

The decision to send three helicopters to Poland was made in Prague before the Eastern Operation North Atlantic Alliance began, but it fits into this NATO mission – Czech politicians said on Sunday.

They pointed out that if there were further demand for equipment and soldiers from the Czech Republic, there may be obstacles. At the beginning of October, new MPs will be selected, and without the consent of the parliament, the army cannot operate abroad.

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said on Friday that the Alliance launches the Mission of the Eastern Guard to strengthen the eastern flank. The mission is to participate, among others Danish F-16, French Rafale and German Eurofightery.
