The Revolut Digital Bank announced on Thursday that it has exceeded 4 million customers in Italy, placing itself among the first five Italian banks as a number of customers, after ranking and first among the foreign banks operating in the country, writes the Italian press.

This new important stage arrives after the January announcement saying that it has reached 3 million customers. A key role in increasing the Revolut in the Peninsula had the recent launch of the Italian IBANs, which simplifies the daily transactions, the possibility to receive the salary in the Revolut account and the smooth payment of the invoices or direct debts. All these operations being under the supervision of the Italian regulatory authority.

“Italy's interest in Revolut grows rapidly. Today, every minute they become four Italian revolut customers, which means that we offer the right product for the market and that our brand is truly appreciated. Given that almost one in ten Italians is currently a Revolut customer, we intend to become one of the first three Italian banks,” says Ignio. South Europe.

The number of customers receiving their salaries in their Revolut accounts increased by 62% compared to November last year, and users who feed their Revolut accounts by at least 1,000 per month increased by 630% from November last year.

What happens to the iban

“We observe a clear” IBAN effect “on how our customers use Revolut, with a tangible increase as main account, compared to the period when we did not have a local Iban and a branch,” adds Nicola Vicino, general manager of Revolut Bank Italy.

“On the one hand, we have noticed an increase in the number of customers who choose to receive their salaries on the revolut since the introduction of the IBAN, but, on the other hand, we notice that many people who still receive their salaries elsewhere prefer to use Revolut for their daily expenses.

Starting in January, Revolut migrates from Lithuanian to Italian Iban, for those who have given their consent after receiving a notification. However, there are still groups of customers who have not received or receive it today, because they have activated certain functions, or have to do something to receive it. For example, those with common accounts have not been able to migrate so far, but recently, Revolut also activated this option.

Other initiatives

The company has recently improved its application with innovative functions, such as ESIMs to remain connected during travel, Duo for better financial management of paid plans and Revpoints loyalty program, which rewards customers with aerial miles and discounts to experiences and accommodation, as they spend (applied to Revpoints and conditions).

In parallel, Revolut has launched partnerships to connect with their customers' passions. Globally, the partnership with Audi will launch a series of initiatives for Formula 1 fans starting with 2026, while in Italy, the agreement with Como 1907 will allow the company to create strong links with the football community.
