Alert in Dolj: A bear was seen in a commune. Residents, advised to avoid traveling in forests

A bear was seen in a commune in Dolj on Friday evening, September 12. The mayor of Brădești commune begs the inhabitants to avoid the isolated movements in the wooded or difficult to reach areas.

In the images published by the City Hall of Coțofenii in front, a neighboring commune with Brădești, the animal can be seen running on the road and then jumping in the yard of a house.

Subsequently, the City Hall of Brădești commune warned its inhabitants regarding the presence of the bear in the respective area.

“The City Hall of Brădești commune informs the citizens that the presence of a bear was reported in the area. We ask the inhabitants to manifest maximum caution and to avoid isolated movements in the wooded or difficult to access.

We assure you that the competent authorities have been informed and monitor the situation. Thank you for your understanding! ”the institution transmitted.

Currently, in Romania there are freedom between 10,000 and 13,000 brown bears, according to government data, being the largest number in any European country, except Russia, and three to four times above the level that the Ministry of Environment considers sustainable, according to the spokesman Mihai Drăgan.
