The Prime Minister of Italy, Giorgia Meloni, said on Saturday that the recognition of the state of Palestine before its establishment could be counterproductive, Reuters reports.

“I am very in favor of the state of Palestine, but they are not in favor of its recognition before its establishment,” he told meloni for the Italian daily at Repubblica.
“If something that does not exist is recognized on paper, the problem might seem solved, when it is not actually.” added Meloni, writes Agerpres.
