A relevant example is the study “Talent Insight. Labor Square and SMEs”, conducted by Pluxee together with Ipsos Romania during the period April 2024. The study offers a clear and detailed image on recruitment and retention strategies, sources of satisfaction and stress among employees and SME managers.
Data collected from 300 entrepreneurs and managers and 500 employees It reveals that inflation, fiscal changes and labor deficiency are the most pressing difficulties of small and medium -sized companies. Also, companies with over 50 employees signal an increasing shortage of specialists, while employers express concerns about the gaps between the competences declared in the CVs and the real skills, as well as the retention of the staff.
On the other hand, SME employees appreciate organizational culture, collaborative environment and professional development opportunities. However, approximately half of the respondents signals difficulties in balancing professional with personal life.
Regarding the sources of motivation for employees, both from their point of view and of the employers, the provision of extrasalarial benefits and the payment of overtime is among the first places in importance.
