The Egyptian from Liverpool has surpassed the record previously held by Jamie Carragher, the former “cormorants” defender, currently a TV analyst for British television.
Mohamed Salah has surpassed Jamie Carragher's record of 81 Champions League appearances
It was Mohamed Salah's 81st Champions League game and surpassed Jamie Carragher's record of 80 games, according to OPTA Stats.
Even though this season Mohamed Salah has broken several records related more to longevity, the season has not been a good one for the Liverpool star.
This season Mohamed Salah played in 32 games in all competitions for the “Cormorants” and managed to score 9 goals (only 5 in the Premier League) and provide 8 assists (6 in the Premier League).
In this Champions League season he has 7 matches, two goals and one assist. The Egyptian is quoted by the specialization sites at 30 million euros.
Salah has been at Liverpool since 2017 and won everything he could with the “cormorants”: 433 matches, 254 goals, 121 assists.
Liverpool qualified directly, from the first 8 teams in the giant group, in the round of 16 stage. Although the European campaign was not bad, in the championship things are bad for the title champion of the Premier League: 6th place with 48 points accumulated in 29 stages, 20 points behind the leader Arsenal.
