A relaxing holiday in Greece, in his aunt, brought problems to the man. The young man, registered as an unemployed at the Public Employment Service in Austria (AMS), did not report his stay for two weeks abroad, at the beginning of the year, writes Heute.
The man's gesture was played by the court in the Austrian city of Bruck as an attempt to fraud
“It was a mistake, but I didn't do it intentionally”defended the man, born in Iran, according to the publication “Kleine Zeitung”.
Previously, he had spent several months in preventive arrest for aggression. “After that, I didn't feel good psychically“He said, which is why he went to visit his aunt in Greece.
Judge Michael Auher also asked for the opinion of the official responsible for the file. He confirmed that the man did not mention in the interview after the holiday that he was abroad: “If I had known, I would have noted this in the file, because the payment is made retroactively and for that period it would not have been granted. ”
The tutor found out about vacation only in a letter from the ministry, then asked for air tickets and stopped paying the aid. The man claims: “I said I went to my aunt, but she didn't understand. ” However, the tutor could not know that the aunt lives in Greece.
The court considered that, by signing the request of AMS, he also accepted the reporting obligations – and these include reporting a vacation abroad.
The sentence received by the man is two months in prison with suspension.
“It is clear that you are not a great awareness. But you have to accept the conditional intention.”said Judge Aucher.
Fortunately, he will not have to stay in prison, because in the meantime he has found a job. “This is not exactly what I have prepared, but work is work ”he commented in front of the judge.
