Timiş police ordered the establishment of a special public safety area in the North Station area of Timisoara, where the presence of homeless and begging phenomenon can generate public discomfort and isolated incidents, the measures remaining in force until September 13, a press information of the Timiş Police shows on Tuesday evening.
This measure implies the supplementation of the forces from public order, criminal and road investigations, common actions with the structures of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SAS Timiş, Criminal Service, Gendarmerie Timiş, Gendarmerie Mobile Group, Transport Police, Border Police, Organized Crime Fighting Brigade and Local Police, Timişoara) of the area, reports Agerpres.
The actions carried out are not at the moment, but part of a coherent, long -term plan, to maintain public order and to combat antisocial phenomena, says Timiş Police.
The measures come in the context in which the inhabitants of the North Station area Timisoara protested on Saturday, against the criminal status and the uncertainty of the citizens caused by the street people.
On the other hand, the Timiş Police show that the criminality in the municipality of Timisoara decreased by 389 facts (11%) in the first semester of this year, compared to the similar period of last year, and the street offense reduced by 23.12%.
In the first six months of the current year, there were 8,569 interventions at events, of which 7,298 through the Emergency Service 112, 1,351 criminal files, 2,699 contraventional sanctions were drawn up, there were 34 home searches and 54 computer searches. 438 conflicting states were flattened, including 200 intrafamilial. On the line of combating robberies, there was a decrease from 15 to 7 facts, all solved with the identification of the authors, and the crimes against the heritage were reduced with almost 470 facts.
“The safe city reputation of Timisoara is confirmed not only by the local operative data, but also by independent international evaluations,” points out the Timiş Police.
