Giant EU funds for defense for Poland


“We have it! The European Commission has announced that EUR 43.7 billion from the SAFE program will go to Poland! 19 Member States submitted to the EC for a total amount of EUR 150 billion. This decision is a great success of Poland and a guarantee of further investments in the safety and development of our arms industry, “said the head of the Ministry of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz.
“We want the money from this fund to strengthen the key abilities of the Polish Army, air and anti -cancer defense, artillery systems, shopping of ammunition, drones and anti -done systems. It will also be supporting strategic abilities, protection of critical infrastructure, mobility of troops and cyberpace” – added deputy prime minister, minister of national defense.
The European Commission announced on Tuesday about the granting of the Member States the amounts of loans from the SAFE program. For separation, EUR 150 billion in the form of low -interest loans for military equipment and ammunition. Poland applied for EUR 45 billion. As Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced on Tuesday before the government meeting, “Poland will definitely be the greatest beneficiary of this impressive undertaking.”

According to the EC, Member States may now prepare their national investment plans describing the use of possible financial assistance. They are to be presented by the end of November 2025. The Commission will then assess these national plans and make the first payments, which are planned for the beginning of 2026.
