The book caught on Netanyahu's desk during a conversation with Trump. The US president watches the operation at Mar-a-Lago

US President Donald Trump is overseeing the large-scale attack against Iran from his private residence at Mar-a-Lago, Florida, together with his national security team, according to Agerpres. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu released a photo from his office during a call with his American counterpart.

The spokeswoman of the White House, Karoline Leavitt, informed that Trump watched the operation all night, baptized by the United States “Epic Fury” (Epic Fury), and that he spoke on the phone with the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu.
Netanyahu's office released a photo of him talking on the phone in his office, with a map of the region, a folder of documents and the book “Allies at War,” about the Allied powers during World War II (1939-1945), on the table. In the message accompanying the photo, it is only indicated that the image was taken during a conversation between the two leaders.
“The president and his national security team will continue to closely monitor the situation throughout the day,” Leavitt said.
From Mar-a-Lago, where Trump usually spends his weekends, the Republican sent the video message at dawn, through his Truth Social network, in which he announced the launch of the attack against Iran, whose ultimate goal is the fall of the regime.
According to official sources, Secretary of State Marco Rubio informed seven of the eight members of the so-called Group of Eight, which includes the Republican and Democratic leaders of the House of Representatives and the Senate, about the attack.
The Pentagon also briefed the House Armed Services Committee on the operation when the attacks were already underway.
Several Democratic congressmen denounced the fact that they were not warned about the attack and accuse the Government of initiating a covert war without going through Congress, which has the authority to authorize a military conflict abroad.
Israel launched a large-scale joint attack with the United States on Saturday against targets in Tehran and other cities in Iran, such as Tabriz (northwest) and Isfahan (center), which caused dozens of deaths on Iranian soil, including at least 85 in a girls' primary school.
An IDF lieutenant said air force fighter jets fired hundreds of munitions simultaneously at more than 500 targets, including air defense systems and missile launchers in several areas of the country.
One of the sites targeted was in the Tabriz area of western Iran, Lt. Col. Ella Walewaya said, claiming it had been used by a surface-to-surface missile unit and that dozens of rockets were planned to be launched from there toward Israel.
She said this allowed Jerusalem to thwart threats to the air force's fighter jets and the country's home front.
Lt. Col. Waweya said it was the largest offensive mission in the history of the Israeli Air Force and was carried out through an intelligence-led operation, with hundreds of aircraft coordinated to fly simultaneously.
Israeli chief of staff: Israel is engaged in a “decisive and unprecedented” operation against Iran
“We are now faced with a major, decisive and unprecedented operation aimed at dismantling the capabilities of the Iranian terrorist regime – capabilities that represent a permanent existential threat to the security of the State of Israel,” announced Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir in a televised address.
Since the twelve-day war launched in June 2025 by Israel, which proved that “the (Iranian) regime is vulnerable”, it, “despite the considerable damage suffered (…) has not given up either its vision or its hostile intentions to implement its project to destroy Israel”, assured the officer.
The army “is ready and on high alert to respond to a number of different scenarios,” the general said in the message broadcast at the end of Shabbat, the weekly Jewish holiday during which practitioners normally refrain from watching television or listening to the radio.
But “there is no hermetic defense” and “we must not underestimate the enemy's ability to harm us”, warned the chief of staff, announcing “difficult tests” in the coming period and appealing to the population for “strict compliance” with the instructions of the civil defense, the best way, in his opinion, to save lives.
