Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan said, referring to the relationship between the coalition parties, that the calculations according to which the creation of disputes would bring votes to some of these parties. Bolojan made this statement after being invited to comment on the statement made by Sorin Grindeanu, according to which the PSD will not govern “with the gun at the temple”.
Commenting on the speech supported by the PSD president in front of the Parliament, on the occasion of the debate of the censorship motions, Ilie Bolojan said that the future electoral successes of the parties in power depend only on the regaining of the voters, not on the conflicts with the allies from the government.
“Solidarity is a necessary condition”
“When you have partners who in alliance have disputes between them, the calculations that the disputes would bring you votes are wrong. Only the regaining of confidence is a condition of regaining our electorates. If we know we have to take unpopular measures, we must assume them. Bolojan, in an interview for the public television station.
Reactions from PNL and USR after Sorin Grindeanu criticized Bolojan / Grindeanu: “If someone tries to impose certain solutions, it means it is not a dialog and we have to extract”
The prime minister said that, with the installation of his government, the parties committed to reduce the state's expenses and increase the revenues to remedy the serious situation of public finances.
“The country has arrived in this situation because our parties also have an important responsibility (…) I sought to respect my partners, to work in such a way as to build confidence,” commented Ilie Bolojan.
Asked if the criticisms that were indirectly brought by Grindeanu are related to the provisional leadership of the PSD, the PNL president said he does not give “political lessons” to the allies in power. “Certainly certain internal aspects can influence the positions in one issue or another,” Bolojan became comment.
On the other hand, the head of the Government said that on all measures adopted by the Government there was an agreement in the coalition, proven understanding and the result of the vote from the censorship motions.
“In a four-party coalition it is not easy because there is a historian, different positions, but when you spend much more than you can afford, when you have big debts there are no solutions to do them all without disturbing anyone,” Bolojan said.
Grindeanu's dissatisfaction
The speech supported by Sorin Grindeanu in Parliament also contained indirect criticisms of the PSD governance partners, Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan being not explicitly mentioned.
Sorin Grindeanu: “PSD will not vote any gold motion, because we refuse chaos” / warning for Bolojan: Romania does not need extreme austerity
“Romania does not need extreme austerity. We cannot pass with the bulldozer over the country, just cutting and leaving. The country does not lead with the scissors and the ax in the hands! Bolojan, but referring to his fiscal measures.
“It does not go with ultimatums and threats in front of the PSD. We do not govern with the gun at the temple. We will continue to say that Romania needs a clear direction, no matter how disturbing. We do not scare ourselves!” Said Sorin Grindeanu.
