“DGP” estimates that in 2026 national parks may be under the line again. Pursuant to the draft budget act, their gross financial result is to amount to PLN -43.7 million, i.e. almost PLN 12 million less than planned for 2025. The net result of only one out of 23 national parks -Pieniński PN -is to be in the plus and amount to 657 thousand. zloty. The Kampinos National Park will be in the worst situation, whose forecast net result is PLN -8.3 million.

The editors indicate that the costs of national parks are to increase more than revenues (by 14.9 percent compared to 13.6 percent), which results, among others from the increase in salaries, as well as from higher energy prices and materials necessary for the expansion, maintenance and maintenance of park infrastructure. An additional argument is increased depreciation of fixed assets.

“DGP” reports that, according to the draft budget act, revenues from subsidies and subsidies from the state budget will not even cover the costs of remuneration and salary in as much as 13 out of 23 national parks in 2026.

In January, the Ministry of Climate and Environment has prepared a bill that is to partially solve this problem. According to it, the State Forests would be transferred to the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management, part of revenues to the implementation of tasks by national parks, the General Directorate for Environmental Protection and Regional Directorates of Environmental Protection.
