Eggs for almost EUR 500 million a year reach foreign markets, which makes Poland one of their largest exporters in the world. Why the empty shelves do not threaten to explain “Rzeczpospolita” on Wednesday.

As the daily notes, Polish eggs go to EU markets mainly, but not only. According to the accent data, Poland gives way only to the Netherlands in the value of the export of this product, and also occupies a place in the forefront in the world.
“According to the International Trade Center data, Poland is at the forefront of exporters of dairy and animal products. In 2024, the export of dairy products from Poland amounted to EUR 3.8 billion, of which almost EUR 500 million was just eggs” – reports “RZ”.
In the opinion of Radosław Jaremy, director of the Polish Akcenty Department, Polish Egg Export is an important segment of the national agri-food sector, and Poland has been at the forefront of European producers and exporters of this product for years. “Polish eggs enjoy recognition for high quality, fulfilling rigorous EU standards and competitive prices,” he added.
Eggs from Poland reach the German, Dutch and Czech market, but also to Israel or Iraq.
“The US is also one of the leading producers of this product, but due to the epidemic of bird flu, 12 million hens were broken only in February. As a result, eggs are missing all over the world, in January 2025 their exports from Poland increased by as much as 35 percent relative to December,” notes Rzeczpospolita. (PAP)
