A middle -aged man stopped just before the closed green door of the Stepney Green Station station, loading into the announcement of closing almost all lines. In an interview with PAP he said that he had a meeting with a doctor in the city center planned in the afternoon and is afraid that he would have to dismiss them because he will not be able to get.

On the opposite side of the street, waiting for buses pressed at the stop. Some expressed frustration because they had been waiting for several dozen minutes, and the horizon was not visible for the Red Britain, characteristic of the capital of Great Britain. Those who tried to catch a taxi also set up in long queues.

In connection with the closing of the metro, Londoners had to choose a different means of communication. Many have decided on a city bike or a scooter to reach their destination today, as evidenced by a lot of traffic on the paths brought for them and the lack of vehicles at loan points.

Protesting members of the Rail, Maritime and Transport (RMT) trade union demand wage increases and a 32-hour work week. Employer Transport for London (TFL) proposed a 3.4 % wage increase, but did not agree to shorten the 35-hour work day, considering that it is “neither practical nor profitable”.

The spokesman for the mayor of London Sadiq Khan said in an interview with the BBC that “nobody wants a strike or disturbances in the everyday life of the inhabitants.” Khan appealed to the parties to the conflict to resolve the dispute and launch the network.

During the strike of metro employees, travelers can use the other London railway lines: Elizabeth, London Overground and National Rail. The biggest difficulties are expected on Tuesday and Thursday, when the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) trains are suspended because of the strike due to a strike that is a consequence of another dispute.

The strike will affect communication with six London airports. On the largest of them, Heathrow, the Piccadilly line will be closed, but you will still be able to get and leave the airport with the Elizabeth line or the Railway of Heathrow Express. The National Express bus carrier also serves connections with this airport.

The strike, which is to last until the Friday morning, led to the transfer of the deadlines of the planned concerts of the band Coldplay and the American singer Post Malone. It is estimated that closing the metro line can bring up to 150 million pounds of losses due to a reduction in the number of customers in pubs, restaurants, hotels or theaters who will remain at home due to difficulties in communication.

Every day, over 3 million people use the London metro.
