What determines the price of gasoline?
The price of gasoline is mainly influenced by the price of crude oil on world markets. The final price is also influenced by the dollar exchange rate (contracts are settled in this currency). Taxes and fees are also an important part of the price, primarily VAT, excise duty, fuel and emission fees. In addition, there are the costs of oil processing and refinery margins.
