The German ambassador to Ukraine stated that he was leaving his post. He will lead German intelligence


“After two intensive and intense years, my time as a German ambassador in Ukraine is coming to an end today. It was an honor for me to represent my country here in Ukraine at this particular time,” Jeger said. “Ukraine deeply struck me with people, their courage, determination and unshakable faith in a good future.”

The German diplomat expressed gratitude to everyone who “was on the way with him,” and noted that Germany “firmly” on the side of Ukraine.

“Friends stand side by side,” he added in Ukrainian.

According to Eger, his successor will arrive in Kyiv in mid -September (Die Welt wrote that they would be Haiko Toms).

“I leave Ukraine as an ambassador, but I remain closely connected with this country,” said Jeger.




Context

Jeger arrived in Kyiv and began work as the head of the German diplomatic mission in Ukraine on July 20, 2023, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry reported.

Soon, the Jeger will head the Federal Intelligence Service of Germany, informed on September 5, 2025 at the German Embassy in Ukraine in Kh.
