I really hope that we will return to the idea of Fort Trump, but it is too early to talk about the details – said President Karol Nawrocki in an interview with Interia. He added that we should focus on creating a space that would be a place of American investments and economic cooperation.

Nawrocki met with US President Donald Trump on Wednesday. The US president declared, among others, that American soldiers will stay in Poland. “If Poles want, we can arrange more of them,” he added.
The President of the Republic of Poland was asked if he expected such a clear declaration from Donald Trump when it comes to the presence of American troops in Poland. Nawrocki replied that “he actually came to Washington for her.” “I was hoping that I would be able to enter the presence of American soldiers in Poland, not to reduce. And it succeeded,” said Nawrocki.
He added that they devoted a lot of time with Trump to a conversation about strengthening the security of Poland and the eastern flank of NATO. “All these arguments led to the conclusion that this presence (American soldiers) is necessary on the one hand, and on the other, we should also think about expanding it in the future,” said Nawrocki.
The President of the Republic of Poland emphasized that “all this discussion (in the White House) oscillated around such projects that resemble Fort Trump directly.” “I really hope that we will come back to this idea. It is too early to talk about it in detail, because this will be discussed by the minister (head of the Pentagon) Pete HegeSth and the minister (BBN head) Sławomir Cenkiewicz,” said Nawrocki.
In his opinion, “we should focus on creating a space that would be a place of American investments, economic and technological cooperation, would be in the interest of both the United States, Poland and all of Central Europe.” (PAP)
