After modifying the magistrate's pension system, included in the Fiscal 2 of the Government, in package 3 there will be included measures to target the other categories of special pensions, said the President of Romania, on Thursday night, in an interview for Antena1.

“In package 3 we will talk about the other categories of special pensions,” said Nicușor Dan.

In addition to the more than 211,000 military pensioners, who are paid by the Sectoral Pension Houses of the MApN, MAI and SRI, in Romania there are six other categories of pensioners, who receive service pensions from the National Public Pensions on the basis of special laws, which, although they have a contributing component, are calculated differently from the rest of the pensions. These pensioners are, together with prosecutors, judges and specialized employees from the courts: diplomats, parliamentary civil servants, civil aeronautical employees and employees of the Court of Accounts.

In the package 2 of fiscal measures for which the Bolojan Government assumed its responsibility in Parliament on Monday, a law to amend the special pension system is included-the pension will not be more than 70% of the last net salary collected, compared to 80% of the last gross salary collected, as it is now. Another change is that in order to retire the magistrates will have to be 35 years old, given that they can now retire if they are 25 years old. The retirement age would increase gradually at 65.
