Donald Trump talks about sending soldiers to Portland. Authorizes them to use “full force”

In an entry published on Truth Social on Saturday, Donald Trump wrote that he ordered war secretary Pete HegeSth to send American soldiers to Portland. He added that he gives them green light to use “full force, if it is necessary” in an American city.
“At the request of national security secretary Kristi Noem, I recommend the secretary of war Pete HegeSth to provide all necessary troops to protect the war destroyed by Portland and all our ICE facilities [Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Urzędu Celno-Imigracyjnego] besieged by Antifa and other national terrorists, “he wrote.
Details about the decision of the US President remain unclear – it is not known, for example, on what legal basis he intends to allow the use of “full force” of the army in Oregon. The Federal Act Posse Comitatus Act of 1878 basically prohibits the president to use federal troops to enforce national law.
The White House and the Department of War did not respond to Politico's requests for a comment.
