President Donald Trump has spent the last 24 hours following the evolution of the situation and reactions after US attacks on Saturday night Iran, according to several American officials, and on Monday he came with a public message that sent a warning about crude oil prices, CNN reports.

US officials said the Republican leader held regular sessions with his high -ranking staff as he received updated information. Trump intends to participate in the NATO Summit in The Hague that takes place on Tuesday and Wednesday, although two officials warned that his external travel plans may undergo something important.

On Monday, Trump warned “everyone” to maintain oil prices at a low level. He also told the US Energy Department to continue to “drill” (reiting the famous “Drill, Baby, Drill”).

“Everyone: Keep the prices of low oil. Stay with you! Play exactly as the enemy wants. Do not do this!”, He wrote Monday morning (local time), using uppercase, in a message published on his social network, Social Truth.

“To the Department of Energy: Drink, boys, drill !!! And I speak seriously, now !!!” Trump wrote in a second post.

The spokeswoman for the White House, Karoline Leavitt, warned Iran not to close the Hormuz Strait, a measure that could have disastrous consequences for world oil markets.

The Legislature in Tehran adopted a resolution that requires the closing of the straits through which 20% of the world and oil and oil deliveries passes on Sunday afternoon.

Prices for petroleum products reacted immediately to the opening of financial markets on Monday, increasing for several reference brands.
